European event organiser Relog Media has entered a broadcast partnership with Malaysian channel eGG Network.
The deal commences on August 10th with the third iteration of Relog Media’s Nine to Five event series with data solutions company GRID.
eGG Network will broadcast the third and fourth events in the series to its Southeast Asian audience, providing a larger scope of viewers to Relog Media and GRID – both of which have stepped up to provide online competitions during COVID-19.
Petar Marković, COO of Relog Media, spoke on the deal: “We are proud to announce our partnership with eGG Network. Our goal was to set the bar high for the esports production quality, and we are happy to see that eGG recognized our potential. It will be great to see our own “9 to 5” CSGO Tournament series as one of the featured esports tournaments on eGG Network.
“Esports and gaming in Southeast Asia have been growing rapidly fast, and we are more than delighted to have the opportunity to present our quality content to all of the CSGO fans from Southeast Asia.”
Nine to Five is part of ESPORTS MILLIONS, an initiative between GRID and Unikrn that will give away €1 million (£903,759) to fans. The “live prediction game” is centred around the four-event series that asks 10 questions over the weeks. The three fans that achieve the best record will win gaming computers; any fan with a flawless record will be eligible to win the jackpot.
The likes of Copenhagen Flames, the newly-rebranded HellRaisers, and Team Singularity are confirmed to compete in the group stage for the third event.
Esports Insider says: eGG Network has slowly but surely been increasing its involvement in the West, picking up CS:GO and NBA 2K League competitions to broadcast to fans in Southeast Asia. While it’s not competing with DouYu and HUYA in terms of its involvement on this front, it’s still good to see.
