Spanish organisation Team Heretics has partnered with tokenisation platform Chiliz to launch its own token for its fans.
The deal will allow fans that purchase tokens to vote in “key decisions” and earn “exclusive digital and real-life rewards. through Chiliz and Socios.com.
The fan token will launch on August 25th, with 125,000 being available in the initial offering until August 27th. Each token will cost €2 (£1.81) in the initial offering, though the price will be determined by supply and demand once the period closes. There’s a total supply of 5,000,000 tokens, according to a release.
Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO & Founder of Chiliz, spoke on the deal in a release: “Team Heretics want to give their fans as big a say in the life of the team as possible, which makes them the perfect partner for us – we’re delighted to welcome them aboard.
“Heretics fans can now enjoy a much stronger relationship with the team. The first poll – which will give 6 Fan Token holders the chance to play Fortnite alongside Heretics players and win some amazing prizes from Logitech – is a great way to start!”
The organisation is also partnered with Philips OneBlade, UNICEF, Ultimate Ears, noblechairs, Babybel, Font Vella, adidas, San Miguel, Logitech G, KFC, and G FUEL. OG Esports was the first esports brand to get involved with Chiliz and its Socios.com platform, back in July last year.
Pablo Canosa, Commercial Director of Team Heretics, commented: “It’s essential to us that our fans are involved as much as possible with the organisation. Now – thanks to Socios.com – our fans can have a real voice and the opportunity to vote in important team matters. Not only this, but fans can also look forward to exclusive rewards and experiences too. Stay tuned to Heretics & Socios.com via social media in the coming weeks. It’s time to decide the future of Team Heretics – together!”
Esports Insider says: Team Heretics has a passionate fan base, that’s for sure, so we’ve no doubt they like being involved with what the organisation does. Bringing money into the equation can change things though, so we’ll have to see how the initial offering pans out. Chiliz knows what it’s doing, as demonstrated with its other partnership, so we’ve faith that this will turn out well for both parties.
