Swedish organisation GODSENT has unveiled a partnership with Samsung Electronics Nordics AB, the Nordic branch of the South Korean technology conglomerate.
Samsung Electronics Nordics will serve as the technology provider for GODSENT for the remainder of 2020.
As part of the collaboration, Samsung will equip GODSENT’s gaming facility in Malmö, Sweden, with its monitors and memory products. Alongside providing the organisation with a range of peripherals, the brand will be present across all GODSENT media, jerseys, and training clothing for all of its players and rosters.
GODSENT currently fields rosters across eight games, including Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, Fortnite, and Call of Duty: Mobile. Samsung joins PriceRunner, Espo, Philips, GRID Esports, fan engagement platform GLHF, Mionix, Shark Gaming, and fashion brand Björn Borg as a partner of the organisation.
Samsung is no stranger to the esports industry, having partnered with numerous organisations and tournament organisers across multiple regions. In June, it became a partner of Riot Games’ LCS ahead of its Summer Split. The technology giant also recently joined forces with T1 as its display partner and became a sponsor of Envy Gaming’s Team Envy and Dallas Fuel team brands.
Esports Insider says: Acquiring Samsung as its technology provider is another solid move from GODSENT, which has bolstered its commercial efforts in the past year or so. Given the company’s wealth of experience in the industry, it’ll be interesting to see if anything beyond branding and product supply comes from the partnership throughout the last quarter of 2020.
