If Jiri Prochazka is next in line for the light heavyweight title, he may have to wait a little bit.
But if that’s the case, he’ll have some time to spend his extra money.
The UFC handed out four $50,000 bonuses after UFC on ESPN 23 on Saturday in Las Vegas – including a double-dip for Prochazka.
Check out the winners below.
Fight of the Night: Jiri Prochazka def. Dominick Reyes
Jiri Prochazka (28-3-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) and Dominick Reyes (12-3 MMA, 6-3 UFC) were in a shootout for most of two rounds in the main event. Prochazka landed a ton and bloodied Reyes up. Somehow, Reyes stayed in the fight and landed a bunch of big shots of his own. But Prochazka walked through them, seemingly with ease.
And after a combination backed Reyes to the fence, Prochazka threw a right elbow that glanced off Reyes’ head, then a spinning left elbow that put Reyes out cold.
Performance of the Night: Jiri Prochazka
Prochazka’s brutal knockout of Reyes was just his second fight in the UFC. Ahead of the bout, UFC president Dana White said the winner was likely to be next in line for the light heavyweight title. That belt likely will be defended by champ Jan Blachowicz against Glover Teixeira early this fall. And then, in theory, Prochazka would be next in line unless he chooses to stay active. Regardless, he looked every bit a future star against former title challenger Reyes. It was Prochazka’s second straight $50,000 bonus.
